If the URL for your site ever changes and comments aren't using a custom identifier, you need to use one of our available migration tools to relink comment threads to their proper URL. This will be necessary if you change domains, move to another blogging system, or if you're changing the permalink structure of your articles.
Go to your Disqus Admin, click Tools and find the Migrate Threads tab.

The migration tools will NOT migrate comments to a new shortname, so be sure to use the same shortname on the new site.
Domain Migration Wizard
The migration wizard is meant for simple domain changes, such as from http://example1.com/ to http://example2.com/
The Wizard assumes that everything after the base domain (the permalink) is the same as before. If your permalink has changed, you will have to use one of the other migration tools, detailed below.
Once the Wizard starts, it will automatically detect what domain your comments are linked to. If it detects the wrong one, you can change it to the domain you're trying to migrate from.
Note: If your site contains a 'www.' in the URL, include it without the 'http://', e.g. www.example.com
Upload a URL Map
This is the manual way of migrating comments, wherein you make a two-column CSV (comma-separated values) file.
What will the CSV look like?
In a spreadsheet program, like Excel or Numbers:
| http://example.com/old-blog-post-1/ | http://example.com/new-blog-post-1/ |
| http://example.com/old-blog-post-2/ | http://example.com/new-blog-post-2/ |
| http://example.com/old-blog-post-3/ | http://example.com/new-blog-post-3/ |
In a text editor, like Notepad or TextEdit:
http://example.com/old-blog-post-1/,http://example.com/new-blog-post-1/
http://example.com/old-blog-post-2/,http://example.com/new-blog-post-2/
http://example.com/old-blog-post-3/,http://example.com/new-blog-post-3/

How to make the CSV, Method 3: Missing comments

-
Download the CSV file containing the page URLs for your forum's current threads at Tools > Migrate Threads > Start Mapper.
-
At the appropriate forum's Moderate panel, search for a missing comment.
-
Expand the missing comment. Right-click the 'Posted on' link and copy the URL.
-
On a new line in the CSV file, paste the comment link from Step 3. In the corresponding right column, input the new URL you desire.
-
Repeat steps 2-4 for one missing comment from each page.
-
Upload the CSV file at Migrate Threads > Upload URL Map.
Redirect Crawler
This migration tool will follow 301 redirects and migrate comments automatically. Each old permalink must redirect to the proper new permalink rather than the root domain.
For example, http://example1.com/my-post-1/ needs to redirect to http://example2.com/my-post-1/
